: Hiatal hernia is usually asymptomatic until you have GERD unless you have a big hernia. If you have had GERD symptoms for 6 months and you still have that symptom, you may need upper endoscopy for a definite diagnosis. You should see GI doctor if you have not seen anyone yet.

Hiatal hernia is usually asymptomatic until you have GERD unless you have a big hernia. If you have had GERD symptoms for 6 months and you still have that symptom, you may need upper endoscopy for a definite diagnosis. You should see GI doctor if you have not seen anyone yet.
