A member asked:

I have recently had a head cold, now i'm suffering with having to clear my throat and some post nasal drip, with a cough that feels like there's something in my throat. what could this be? part of the cold still?

The current symptoms can be caused by the postnasal drip or the viral upper respiratory tract infection can move down into the trachea ( the windpipe) causing a dry cough. This usually resolves after several days. If you're bothered by a dry, nagging cough, take a cough suppressant like robitussinDM for relief. Drink lots of fluids also.

Post nasal drip can be allergies most likely. You could also be refluxing (acid juice coming up from the stomach). I would consider seeing an ear nose and throat doctor who can check all of this out for you.
