Blood tests have nothing to do with ascites. But having all tests normal would make it unlikely. Ask your Dr to test you for "shifting dullness". In your abdomen I mean. ;-) Dr humor. Classic sign that can be detected at the bedside if practiced but I fear it is a lost art. Most likely cause of weight gain is eating more calories than u burn. 'Enlarged' and 'normal' are not compatible. If your blood tests for Liver are normal you are OK and it is not due to ascites but weight gain.. Stay under care of your MD and away from alcohol. You should be OK
