A member asked:

Just a follow up to my original question. getting an abrasion from hand stimulation on my penis from a girl. based on the answers it seems my risk is practically zero, is there anything i should test for just to be sure or is it unnecessary?

The herpes virus is caused by skin to skin transmission. If the girl was a carrier of the herpes virus she could transmit it to your penis even if she didn't have an outbreak at the time. Should you develop a cold sore like eruption, see your physician for a prescription to treat it. Checking for herpes antibodies isn't worthwhile as most of us have been exposed to herpes simplex 1 ( not genital)

Nothing is 0 or 100% in biology, complexity and its pathways still partially understood. That said, chances are minimal, watch for healing, if healing delayed, exam and testing may be needed.
