Each state has it's own regulations, but at 17 you are still a minor, and your parents/guardian is responsible for your overall health. Hiding a problem is counterintuitive as well as counterproductive. Please be frank with your parent/guardian and don't compound the problem by putting yournDentist into an awkward position
