Cake ingredients are likely the culprit. Switch your mouth with warm water, symptom should resolve in less than 30 minutes if that is the case.

Something possibly in frosting probably caused this numbness. Rince your mouth with a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water, half and half of each and you should be fine .
