Had u/s and hida scan (60%) 6 years ago for ruq pain.. all was negative. having pains again on and off about 8 months.. getting worse. could this be gallbladder again? how long can you wait on having surgery? want to try diet first?

I am not sure why HIDA scan was done with negative gallbladder ultrasound 6 years ago. We usually do HIDA when suspecting gallstone induced cholecystitis. If you have gallstones, cholecystectomy should be done for recurrent biliary colic this time. I doubt diet modification will change the outcome.
