Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is best addressed by taking oral contraceptives to turn off ovarian activity, and support fertility at a later desired time. Long exposure to ovarian estrogen can lead to later cell changes in the lining of the uterus ("endometrium") which occurs in PCOS.
