PCOS is best treated with oral birth control pills, which stop ovarian hormone production and prevent long term higher estrogen effects on the lining of the uterus, caused by cycles without ovulation. If pregnancy is desired, receive guidance from your GYN physician or a reproductive endocrinologist.

You can wait a little longer and then take the duphaston every month that you don't have a period. It may or may not bring one on. The main difference compared to the birth control pill is that it will not prevent pregnancy if you ovulate. If you are actively trying to conceive you may need to take other medication to help you ovulate.
