Learning about male kegels methods seem to involve inserted devices. haven't read that much into it but some of these are "plugs" used temporarily. can you clarify, is the presence of one these devices relaxing or tightenng the pelvic floor muscles?

No, you can practice pelvic floor muscles exercise (Kegel exercise) without any device. The act you do when you stop the urine flow halfway makes the pelvic floor muscles contract and that is Kegel exercise. You can do that exercise anytime, 10-20 times each session, when sitting or standing or lying down, do 3-4 sessions daily. It will be more effective if you can hold after each contraction.

They do not involve any devices. Tightening the anal sphincter (as in avoiding a BM) holding that for a few seconds, stopping and starting urination are some that can be done. For proper training see a Urologist
