A member asked:

I have a interuterine device inserted 2 years ago, i'm experiencing medium to heavy vaginal bleeding and pelvic pain and discomfort?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

IUD ?'s: If you have had a relatively uneventful time since IUD insertion, the IUD may now be in the cervical canal b/c of uterine contractions. Also, IUD's do NOT PROTECT against tubal (ectopic) pregnancies, so if pregnancy is possible, obtain a serum HCG test to be certain, and if positive, see your gyn physician immediately.
