You should ask the doctor who prescribed it to find out the safest way for you to switch. One way would be to skip a dose one night and then take the dose the next morning. The safety of doing this would depend on the reason you are taking it. So, call your doctor and ask the best way for you to make this change. Best of luck to you!

I agree with Dr. F's advice. You don't mention the reason you're taking it. Hypertension? Arrhythmia? You're on a very low dose of the medication. Another approach could be to take 1/2 dose at bedtime & start the full tablet in the following AM. ToprolER is unique as it has micropellets &doesn't lose longacting effect when cut in half, but shouldn't be cut in quarters. Again,check with your MD
