More info: Dizzy spells can have a number of causes including tapering off metoprolol. However, more information is needed, such as current blood pressure, other medications, new medications recently started, other disease processes going on, or even recent colds and flu's. All of these can play a role in dizziness. Best to follow up with your doctor so that he or she can examine you and find a cause.

No short answer.: Hypertension demands ongoing treatment - are you replacing your metoprolol with other medication? Confirm that you are refering to Metoprolol Tartrate and not metoprolol succinate. Dizziness .... May not be related to changes in blood pressure ...... Other symptoms or illness?
