Why no real treatment for covid-19 two years into the pandemic?

With four extensively tested vaccines, combined with antibody infusions against COVID as well as oral medication soon to be available, there is significant treatment. While the vaccines may not confer lasting immunity, the severe manifestations of COVID virus (and variants) are prevented in the majority of individuals.

Actually, treatment progress has been very fast. Designing effective treatment against viruses is inherently difficult, with no success at all against most. Although there is no cure for COVID (and probably never will be), it's amazing that several treatments that help have become available as soon as they have. It's a testament to extraordinary scientific developments in the past 10-15 years.
