There are different ways of managing it, and what is best may have to be individualized to the person and situation, however the best way to know is to see an expert in PTSD. It may require counselling by a therapist or there may be need for use of medication. The important thing is to understand the basis of it so you could address the issues in a beneficial way.

Visit a psychologist or psychiatrist, get evaluated and consider counseling. There are research studies, looking at newer medications, and psychotropic drugs may have promise in this area. I like cognitive-behavioral therapy, and this may be a successful intervention.
