Two common lesions of the eyelid are stye and chalazion. Stye is more common and you can see it easily with a bump and redness. Both can recur in either eye and stye recurs more often but it does not last that long. You probably have chalazion or something else such as molluscum contagiosum. Please see an ophthalmologist for a thorough exam.

A bump on one eyelid cannot "transfer" to the other eyelid. It is likely a stye (hordeolum/chalazion) but given that it is "getting bigger" cannot rule out a malignancy. I would suggest having it evaluated by an ophthalmologist
