See below: Since i don't know what the diagnosis was (although i can speculate), i would recommend seeing an ophthalmologist for further advise.

Severe allergies: It sounds like a severe type of allergic response called phlyctenulosis. This needs steroid drops and really must be handled only by an ophthalmologist. Please see one asap.
