Overweight alone is not a risk factor for sudden cardiac death or heart attack, especially at your age. You can exercise and cut down calories (carbohydrate and fat) intake, you can shed out the extra-weight and keep you healthy in the long term. You should not lose your sleep with this nonsense concern.

Physical exercise will help with both your health related anxiety and losing weight. Otherwise talk to your doc about other options in having your anxiety addressed. Having your cardiac risk calculated and starting preventative care under the direction of a cardiologist should give you peace of mind specifically if family members had cardiac events at early ages.
