Blood in clear slimy phlegm when waking up.small amount mixed in 2-3 spits. happened once before months ago. was told nothing to worry about then. currently scheduled for biopsy trad5 6mm thyroid nodule related? should i be concerned?

most likely cause of an isolated episode of blood in phlegm is from your upper airway, such as sinus inflammation, a bloody nose or even from your gums if you have periodontal disease. If you are a smoker you should bring it up with your PCP because he might want you to have a CXR. You mention a thyroid nodule, this would not be a cause .
