Braces make it harder to keep teeth clean. Tarter forms when bacteria/food debris is not removed properly, and calcium in your saliva precipitates out into your plaque. Professional treatment is required to remove calculus (tarter) accretions. Once deposits have been removed, ask the Dentist or Orthodontist that placed your braces how to keep your mouth healthy s this doesn't happen again.
