Orthodontist: Please speak to your orthodontist. As discussed in my prior answer to a similar post you made, since there is less space between your teeth, the gum tissue has been compressed in that area. Over time things should be fine. Great oral hygiene will help.

Closing spaces: Closing spaces compresses the gum tissues between your teeth. If you do not floss or use a WaterPik Every day, the gums between your teeth are probably already compromised. Please talk to both your General Dentist and your Orthodontist about what you can do to improve tissue health, reduce swelling, reduce pain. Mouthwash is of little value. Floss instead.
