I may have sinus surgery due to "mild to moderate scattered paranasal sinus mucosal thickening" ethmoid has moderate thickening-ct sinus. i have been dealing with headaches from a flight months ago. mri brain normal. is this truly cause of headache?

What you described is not a usual reason for sinus surgery. It would be prudent to consult an ENT doctor and a neurologist. Wish you good health!

I'm sure you're under the care of an ENT specialist already. Before deciding to undergo sinus surgery I recommend obtaining a second opinion, preferably from an otolaryngologist at a university hospital or academic center near you.
