If there was no preceding liver problem and co-morbidity yes you should be OK. Liver has great recuperative power.

This length of time of biliary obstruction will not cause cirrhosis, as long as obstruction does not recur. He should get vaccinated for Hepatitis A and B. Avoid alcohol and maintain healthy weight. Wish you good health!
