It probably does not go much further as the the nurturing environment of endometrium is not there. Whatever gets through the upper end of the cervix is likely destroyed by macrophages.

Yes the cervix is is closed on the side in the pelvis. The sperms remain in the cervix and die out. No sperms can pass to the ovaries.
