A member asked:

Cervical stump remains cause of subtotal hysterectomy. how is this closed off to prevent ectopic pregnancies with ovaries remaining?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Removal of uterine body was likely associated with closing off the fallopian tubes and even if the top of the cervix is open, sperm could not reach the ovaries. Are you getting regular PAP examinations? If not do that and ask your doctor about removal of the cervix.
