Im ttc.i have acute uti, took 2 ciprofloraxin (250 mg each). can i stop and take fosfomycin instead for klebsiella pneumoniae? both were prescribed by the doctors but each one insists on one medicine. dont want to create a resistance. ok to switch?

It depends on the sensitivities of the bacteria to the treatment. Cipro has broad coverage and may be continued if the culture showed the bacteria are not resistant.If resistant then switch to a more effective medication, after discussion with your physician. Please follow up with your physician.
