A member asked:

Woke up on the middle of the night feeling nauseous and have sour taste in mouth, throat felt clogged with saliva. i have a hiatal hernia, esophagitis and gastritis, could that be the cause?

Usually a sour taste is due to the reflux of acid from the stomach caused by a hiatal hernia. You mentioned a hiatal hernia, esophagitis and gastritis. Those diagnoses apparently came from some physician. Make sure that that physician is aware of the symptoms so that it can be properly treated.

Yes. You have what is called water brash. One treatment is to elevate the feet of the head of your bed on 4-8” blocks as gravity never sleeps. And lying flat lets acid run back into your mouth. Discuss with your team.
