There is no absolute indication of cholecystectomy for asymptomatic gallstones (cholelithiasis) unless your primary doctor and surgeon suspect chronic pancreatitis as the cause of loose stool. Alcohol does not cause gallstones and cholelithiasis by itself does not cause loose stool but there is certain relationship between alcohol, cholelithiasis and chronic pancreatitis.
