I just finished a course of azithromycin yesterday and i took turmeric with my smoothie yesterday and today. heard turmeric can reduce affects of antibiotics. the strep seems gone but don't want rebound. am i ok?

1. Unless you had strept test on throat swab very unlikely you had strept. 2. Take turmeric if you like the taste and for no other reason. 3. You most likely had a viral common cold and are OK but discuss with the Dr who saw you.

Based on timing, it is not likely that turmeric affected significantly the absorption of azithromycin. As a matter of fact no significant known drug-drug interaction is listed in Lexicomp, one of the drug-drug interaction checker software.

Strep throat (although tonsils look clear). Took 1 of 3 Azithromycin 500mg last night. Today tonsils look visibly worse. Wondering if: A) the antibiotic's not working B) working just need to give more time C) I'm contagious (told I wasn't after 24hr)?
