Does mucinex guaifenesin only, have weird side effects? i took night time mucinex as directed and it was not fun... caused a weird floaty feeling and anxiety. im never using that again. guaifenesin only shouldnt do that right? i have a cold. fhanks?

Over the counter cold remedies have side effects. Nasal saline rinses are often safe and effective for treatment of congestion.

You didn't take pure guaifenesin alone because the night time Mucinex does include some other components such as dextromethorphan (cough suppressant) and triprolidine (antihistamine) which may cause those feelings. Guaifenesin alone rarely causes the described symptoms but still possible.
