Some: Eating a really good diet lowers your LDL by about15% according to studies unless you have really, really terrible eating habits with lots of bad fats then a total change in diet might help a bit more.

Stick with monos!: Saturated and poly-unsaturated fats are to be avoided if you can substitute everything with monos. Of course, this is impossible, but i've got a better one for you. The latest info is LDL particle number is the only true independent risk factor for predicting vascular events. If you know this much now, go have your fasting NMR test done. That will direct you to aggressive diet or medical therapy.
