Female 38 ,my gp in the uk explained as i have thalassemia trait i need a flu vaccine plus pneumonia vaccine i have no other underlying health conditions. i am sure flu vaccine is good idea, but do i really need pneumonia vaccine?

The pneumonia vaccine helps people develop blocking antibodies to many strains of a common cause of bacterial pneumonia. It does not prevent all types of pneumonia. It is reasonable to get both vaccines at your age whether you have trait or not.
