At what age is flu vaccine really necessary ?and if you have the very mild form of thalassemia minor and you're middle aged are flu vaccines and pneumonia vaccines indicated without any respitory problems?

Everybody should get flu vaccine every year, especially people with underlying health conditions. Thalassemia minor probably isn't a big risk factor itself, but for sure you should be immunized. It's especially important this year: COVID-19 precautions resulted in very little influenza, which means we can expect increased frequency and severity of flu this season. Discuss w/ your doctor.

Take the vaccines as recommended by your doctor. Thalassemia minor is neither a risk factor nor a contraindication to any vaccine.
