Please tell me if inflammation of the esophagus (eoe) can be assessed without an endoscopy?

The visual examination of the esophagus cannot be done by looking in the mouth. It requires a camera that can be aimed from the back of the nasopharynx down to the area where the esophagus branches off. Further examination down into the length of the esophagus requires aesthetics and sometimes sedation.
