By PMC website: Long term topical corticosteroids therapy (TCS) is indicated in eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) due to frequent recurrence with TCS removal. Side effects from TCS can include oral and/or esophageal candidiasis and adrenal insufficiency. However, adrenal crisis is not common.
