86 year old patient got into laryngeal endema after extubation causing blood with cough. patient is now treated in hospital with steroids ct scan and x-ray are otherwise okay. how long it takes the blood with cough to disappear? follow up with ent ?

Hello. It’s time for an ENT evaluation to assure there isn’t any other reason for your symptoms. Certainly the intubation and the tube being in place can cause irritation causing bleeding but it’s not typical. An endoscopy, imaging and treatment can be helpful to resolve these issues. Once the reason is clearly established a better idea of healing expectations can be shared. Good luck.
