Some eyes have an extra rich vascular collection on the surface so they might appear red but actually are normal. Eye strain can occur from undetected need for eye glasses. You should book an appointment with an ophthalmolgist to evaluate these.

"Red" eyes are either related to engorgment/inflammation of the blood vessels on the surface of the eye or a little bleeding from these same vessels. This is usually benign. Eye strain can be caused by a number of different things including dryness and incorrect refraction. Try aggressive use of artificial tears. If that works, great! If not, see an ophthalmologist.
