Lab results numbers are just numbers. Their meanings depend on the details of the patient, which is why one always needs to talk with their doctor to figure out the numbers. From a science standpoint, A1c numbers are valid (represent the average glucose level) if a person's blood cells are of typical 120 days age. If a person's blood cells are mostly younger, A1c numbers may not be very accurate.
