Thyroid is fine: Since your TSH is normal you are on the correct dose of thyroid hormone. A1c of 5.9% does not mean your glucose is elevated as it is borderline and not indicative of diabetes. A fasting blood glucose would be a better test and it that is above 100 your doctor can order a oral glucose tolerance test

Thyroid does not: cause diabetes. Your healthy life style has kept your glucose in a prediabetic range over the past 9 years rather than developing diabetes. Continue whatyou are doing.
