If ive been constipated for almost a year now, will i need a ileostomy if i continue to be constipated? im able to have decent bowel movements at times but for the past year ive felt like theres more poop thats not coming out?

No, lifestyle changes will be needed before anything else with physical exercise and proper hydration paramount in keeping up with regular bowel movements. Ileostomy is not a procedure done for simple constipation and keeping your doc informed should help as well.

This apparently is a change in your bowel habits. Your constipation appears to be intermittent . Your incomplete emptying of your rectum may be due to hypersensitivity or hyperawareness of the rectum rather than true constipation. I think consulting a gastroenterologist for evaluation and advice is worthwhile.. Meanwhile follow Dr. S' advice.
