Varies: It depends on what the prior surgery was. If there was a significant amount of the colon removed or much of the right colon removed, then there could be several bowel movements per day after takedown of a stoma. Drink more liquids and first try added fiber such as metamucil if alright with your surgeon. Would not recommend over the counter immodium unless fully cleared as alright with your surgeon.
