It really depends on how much healing has occurred. If there is still an area of open skin, then she ought to keep it dry and not expose it to the bath water. What instructions did the doctor who did the procedure give? Those are the instructions she should follow! Best of luck to both of you!

In six days an uninfected surgical wound have epithelial cover and it would be safe to take a bath. If the wound i "raw" you may cover it with vaseline to prevent exposure to water. Wish you and your mother good health!
