A member asked:

My 3 yr old has uti and vaginal yeast infection. so she's on antibiotics and yeast infection cream. i know antibiotics can cause yeast infections and probiotics help but is there a point in taking a probiotic if she already has a yeast infection?

3yr olds should be given as little OTC meds as possible. ask the prescrber why she is being given antbiotics if she has a yeast infection

Sounds like the prescriber is giving an antibiotic for a UTI which is appropriate..and she developed a yeast infection either separately or because of the needed antibiotic.Probiotic can’t hurt….
