A member asked:

Painful vaginal spasms. history of endometriosis? is this related? why do i have these spasms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Various causes: Several causes of vaginal pain. Endometriosis more typically causes a deeper pain in the pelvis, such as during periods, or intercourse, or with bowel movements. Pain more localized in the vagina can be caused by infection, vaginismus (a painful muscular spasm of the muscles around the vagina when anything is inserted, like a tampon, or a penis), even a bladder problem. See your physician.
