Tooth erosion gives a different clinical appearance than caries. Anything that erodes the enamel will make the teeth more susceptible to decay. Please visit your local dentist for X-rays. Depending on the severity of the condition, the teeth may need to be protected/ covered, also your vertical dimension ( height of teeth ) may have been diminish.

Both tooth decay and GERD, as well as eating disorder regurgitation, will cause loss of enamel. The mechanism, and anatomic changes, however, differ. As GERD can be debilitating an even life threatening, important that you see a Physician, preferably a specialist Gastroenterologist, to address the cause of your acid reflux. Once under control a Dentist can restore your teeth to health.
