You probably had a canker sore on tongue from the high acidic content in your system. The sore is not an infection but is very painful and will go away when you stop eating spicy food. Erosion can happen if you don't brush teeth no matter what type of foods you eat. Brush with baking soda and peroxide with a soft brush and rinse with peroxide and water two to three times a day.

The frequency of acid contacting the teeth will influence your chances of tooth erosion. A person with an history of acid reflux would be at increase risk of tooth erosion

High acidity didn't cause sore on tongue, but irritated it. Not cleaning coupled w high acidity increases risk of cavities and acid erosion. You must brush 2x/day (temporarily omit t'paste if paste irritates canker sore) and floss daily. That's minimum oral hygiene. Anything less is failing. Also, sore on tongue should be completely gone inn 2 weeks. If not, immediately see Dentist.
