More sensitive: The acidity of the acid reflux and just possibly a hyperactive gag reflex may be creating your problems. Sometimes it is good to swish your mouth with very cold water or a strong mouth rinse prior to brushing, especially when brushing your tongue. Trial and error and try not to think about it when doing it.

Hmm: Vomiting after coughing can be more of a reflex. Now if you brush your teeth and touch your tongue the gag reflex can also be triggered causing you to vomit. If you have already a diagnosis of acid reflux and take Nexium (esomeprazole) this should help. Should symptoms persist perhaps you should see your doctor for a scope.
