Can oral hairy leukoplakia (on tongue sides and inner cheeks) be caused by some medical conditions other than hiv/ebv? i am negative for both?

Before worrying about these or any other causes, make sure you in fact have HL; other conditions can appear similar. See a doctor, preferably an expert in oral health such as your dentist or an ENT specialist, then take it from there.

This conditions may be caused by the EPSTEIN - BARR virus in those who have a weak immune system. It is most often seen in those who have HIV. Your immune system appears to be weakened and antiviral medication is indicated. ACYCLOVIR is a systemic antiviral resolution. Since you are negative for HIV and EBV consult your primary care physician now.
