Not feasible to be precise, as an evaluation would be needed. Ocular muscle imbalance may explain but other eye problems may be the cause. See an ophthalmologist, get a full exam and decide if a neuromuscular issue is playing a role.

You may have some unbalanced hidden hyperopia which only shows up now in your 40s. Your right eye may be a little more farsighted than your left. Covering your left eye lets the right eye focus fully. You may also have a microtropia, or slight misalignment of your right eye. Allergy with mucus or dry eye can also cause this. See an ophthalmologist in person for a definite answer.
