My mum's got emphysema, been in hosp 4 2 wks, prognosis is 2 clots on her lungs & a hole in lungs, she's 67, could she recover & live much longer?

Emphysema: Yes. Sounds like she has a pe (clot in lung) and emphysema (hole in lung). Clot can be treated with blood thinners and emphysema with inhalers/oral medications. If she is smoking, this will increase rate of decline& frequency of flares from her lung disease in addition to increasing risk for developing various cancers/ heart disease/ and future clots!
